Today's Scripture Jigsaw

It was said by a news panelist that the American voter likes a candidate who is humble and honest enough to admit where he or she failed to keep campaign promises. If American voters appreciate such confession, how much more so does God? Relatively few Christians are politicians but we do pledge to faithfully follow God and keep his ways. And in this pledge, of course, we fail.

Therefore, from time to time, we must expect some correction. This is particularly important when and if we fail in chief articles of faith such as how one is justified before God. Every now and then someone may have to remind us that it is not what we do but what Christ did for us that makes all the difference. When this happens, we should be grateful that God sent us such an angel.
