Let us consider Paul’s statement that there is “one faith.” There is just the one, true faith and no other. Abraham is not saved in some way other than we are saved. Moses and Elijah, who appeared with Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration, are not brought to Christ’s side in a different way than you you or I are brought to Christ. If it were otherwise then Jesus’ statement that no one comes to the Father except through him, is a lie (John 14:6).

So, we see that Abraham’s faith being reckoned to him as righteousness must be the same faith that justifies us to God. There is “one faith” by which we all are saved. Abraham believed God’s promise to send a Savior — the very same whom we believe, for there is that one faith in the one Lord that brings us to the one Father of us all.
