But, your honor, Jesus forgives me! No magistrate would buy that defense. Here on earth, we pay for our faults; yet in heaven, our faults are forgiven. When you are accused by a lawyer — or even by the law — expect to suffer the earthly consequences but rejoice that Christ has paid heaven’s price for your offenses. The Judge of highest heaven has forgiven your debts. Set your mind on this heavenly truth. Seek it with all your being and let your conscience be ruled by heaven’s decree, known through God’s Word, not the devil’s taunts or even your feelings.
