Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
We confess that we are in bondage to sin, and that we cannot liberate ourselves from it. But we may continue to walk with you in faith, Lord Jesus, despite our burden. Empower us by your Spirit to keep believing the promise of your word: that we may walk blamelessly before you only by walking in your righteousness instead of our own. For we have nothing to show but filthy rags. Help us to walk in the pure, white robes of your forgiveness and salvation that the covenant will not have been in vain in our lives. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We stand in awe of you, God, that you have commanded your righteousness to be proclaimed in a faithless world. It is still preached here at St. Paul’s, and we confess this too is your doing, your faithfulness, not our own. You have done so that future generations may be told of your great mercy and love. Give us peace in knowing that you are for us. We ask this for all with heavy souls this morning, especially Carolyn’s and Cheryl’s family. Christ, have mercy and grant them peace. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Thank you, Lord God, for the peace we have in you: because by your grace, you have given us a faith to stand before you. We know that this standing is eternal in the heavens. This was your covenant with Father Abraham so long ago. Give us joy and endurance, knowing that Christ has done the real suffering for us. Give this hopeful joy and endurance especially to all among us who are suffering. Help them bear these trials for Christ’s sake. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Help all who have heard your Word this morning, Christ Jesus, to believe you are the Savior of God, come down from heaven to deliver us from sin, death, and hell. Continue to reveal yourself to them in your Word and by the gracious power of your Spirit, so that they may go from faith to deeper faith, finally coming to know that you are the Son of and the Son of God, so that they too may profess that “you are the Christ.” Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy — through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
Though we livestream our services, we invite you to join us for an in-person service if you live in the area or are passing though. St. Paul's features traditional worship and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions — all in a friendly, multigenerational environment. Holy Communion is celebrated each Sunday.
We welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon, our children take up a spare change offering for mission. Then they join Pastor Ryman on the chancel steps for a chat about today's Scripture. We think you will love this part of the service.
