Christ the King Sunday
Order of Prayer
Prayers of the Church
Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
Wherever we may look for it, Father, only your salvation is real, lasting, eternal. Your righteousness is from the antiquities of the timeless ages. Give us an ear for your gospel, that we may be robed us in such glory as befits your children. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
As beautiful as the world is in autumn, and it certainly is stunning this year, we also know that there is evil and the devil’s devastation in this wondrous world. Give us eyes to see clearly, that we put not overly much trust in the beauty of things. Rather, may we trust in your Word and will in all things, and so, be led under your sovereign rule forever. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Holy Spirit, you are wholly God, and we would be led by you out of chaos and into the peace who is Christ. With all hope in him who has freed us from our sins, the Alpha and Omega, even our own beginning and end, we draw near in prayer for these whom we name before you now… Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Son of Man, King of kings, Lord of lords—Jesus—come again in power and glory. Gather those who have trusted in your Name. Bring us home to your Father, that we may know the joys of your kingdom, of heaven, of being with you forever and ever. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy—through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
We invite you to join us for an in-person service. St. Paul's features traditional worship and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions—all in a friendly, family-like environment. Our worship services are traditional and liturgical. Holy Communion is celebrated on the first and third Sundays, as well as other festival Sundays.
You may notice in today's service that we welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon Pastor Ryman has a chat with the children. You're going to love this part of the service.
Our services are mask-optional.
