Sermon: Giving Thanks
The Church’s business is thanks and praise for all things. We must always be mindful of our leprous, sinful condition, and that God has healed us by his stripes (Isaiah 53:4-5). Return to the Lord and give him thanks and praise.

Prayers of the Church
Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
Father of Lights, every good and perfect gift comes down from the heavens, for these good gifts are from your hand. You provide for us in one way or another. Help us to know and remember that all sufficiency is by your gracious hand. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
All your blessings come through your Word, Lord God. You spoke creation into existence, and you are still our Father in heaven, Maker of every good gift in all the creation. God be gracious to us and continue to bless us. Make your face to shine upon us. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Your bounty cannot be measured, Lord. As you are infinite, so are your gifts. So, we humbly ask you now to bless all these whom we name before you … Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
You have blessed us with much, God, so inspire us, Holy Spirit, to give appropriate thanks and praise to you. Help us to turn back, as did the leper in our gospel lesson, and give you thanks. For surely, you have cleansed us all from the leprosy of sin. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy—through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
