Emancipation

Scripture Text: Galatians 2:19 and Romans 8:1–2
Series: Comments on Galatians
There have been a lot of strange laws on the books. Just to name one: in Waynesboro, Virginia, it used to be illegal for a woman to drive a car without her husband walking in front of the car while waving a red flag. It is impossible to imagine any woman from Waynesboro today feeling guilty while driving without a flag-wielding husband. That law has been repealed. Just so, Christ has emancipated Christians from the law that would hold them captive. That old law is now imprisoned by God’s grace and liberty.
