The law was king until the King of kings conquered the demands and curse of the law. The moral code of Moses is a great thing to instruct your character but when your character fails, Christ will not fail you. He is King of the law and you, being his friend (John 15:15), flawed as you are, are a new creation in Christ, freed to live in his kingdom.
When your character falls into disrepute — and by the law’s standards, it will falter often — remember that eternal life is not focused on your moral qualities. If your life is in Christ, the focus is on Christ instead of you.
