The Fourth Sunday of Advent
Prayers of the Church
Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
From long ago, from ancient days, days of eternity, you have planned this wondrous thing: that she who is in the labor of your salvation would give birth to a King who would be our peace. May be our heavenly peace in eternity as well as during these days on earth. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We thank you, O Lord, that your holy anger has been removed by your righteous One, that you have caused your face to shine upon us and save us, O Lord. Only through the Son of your Righteousness may we be restored to you and saved; even so bless us with continuing faith. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
A week after the tornadic devastation to our Midwest, we are finally mobilized to help. Bless the gifts of this congregation that are joined with those of so many who are your church, that families may enjoy some Christmas at the beginning of a long road of reconstruction and healing. Bring faith in the midst of tragedy. Just so, we ask your healing blessings on Pastor Dieter Punt, and all those we love, whom we name before you now… Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Blessed is she who believed your word, Holy Spirit, and blessed are all those who believe the Word of God. Your mercy is upon all generations, toward all who fear you. Fill the hungry with good things—especially those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy—through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
We invite you to join us for an in-person service. St. Paul's features traditional worship and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions—all in a friendly, family-like environment. Our worship services are traditional and liturgical. Holy Communion is celebrated on the first and third Sundays, as well as other festival Sundays.
Please notice that we welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon Pastor Ryman has a chat with the children. You're going to love this part of the service.
Our services are mask-optional.
