The Third Sunday after Epiphany
Order of Worship
Prayers of the Church
Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
When your good Book is read, dear Lord, help us to listen with understanding, and may this act of worship be a blessing to you. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Your Word is perfect; it restores the soul of your people. Your testimony is sure, making wise the simple. Your Word shows the history of your righteous instruction, and causes our hearts to rejoice. Your commandments are pure, enlightening the eyes. Give us clarity to comprehend, and courage to obey you. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We are many members of the one Body of Christ throughout the world, throughout time. Yet you have situated us here, and called to this place those who have heard your Word. So, doing what we may to help your church throughout the world, give us such grace that we may especially be of use and comfort to those here at St. Paul’s and in our families, those we love enough to name before you now in our hearts and upon our lips, that they may be sustained by your promises and love… Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Long ago, Christ Jesus, you entered a synagogue on the Sabbath and read from the Scroll. Help us to listen to your Word in this place, and every day in our homes, like you are present, doing the reading. For so you are. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy—through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
We invite you to join us for an in-person service. St. Paul's features traditional worship and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions—all in a friendly, family-like environment. Our worship services are traditional and liturgical. Holy Communion is celebrated on the first and third Sundays, as well as other festival Sundays.
Please notice that we welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon Pastor Ryman has a chat with the children. You're going to love this part of the service.
Our services are mask-optional.
