Fifth Sunday in Lent
Order of Worship
Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
As you made a way through the sea, destroying those who would destroy your people of old, you have made a way for through the waters of baptism, destroying death forever for those who believe on your Name, Lord. As you have made a sure way for us, so help us to declare your praise. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
You have done great things for us, Lord God. We rejoice in faith, knowing that you have sown the body of your Son, and that a harvest of righteousness is assured. Even so, help us to continue our Lenten preparation for Easter, the blessed raising of Jesus Christ from the earth. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We ask for relief for all those who suffer in any way, especially those among us whom we name before you now, in our hearts or on our lips... We ask also that those who suffer may compare their miseries against the surpassing value of knowing your Son, Christ Jesus. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We have been a faithless people at times, O Lord, ignoring your prophets, or turning a deaf ear to the apostolic witness, and of course, castigating and casting out those whom you have sent us. Yet, in the end, may we never, reject you, Lord Jesus. To that end, we ask that you would increase our faith. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy—through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
We invite you to join us for an in-person service. St. Paul's features traditional worship and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions—all in a friendly, family-like environment. Our worship services are traditional and liturgical. Holy Communion is celebrated on the first and third Sundays, as well as festival Sundays.
Please notice that we welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon Pastor Ryman has a chat with the children. You're going to love this part of the service.
Our services are mask-optional.
