Second Sunday after Pentecost
Order of Worship
Prayers of the Church
Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
Thank you, Lord God, for revealing yourself to us. In days gone by, you have made yourself known through the prophets, but in these last days, you have spoken to us by your Son, even crying out through his Word to a world that doesn’t even seek him. Give us wisdom; stir our hearts so that we may seek you in your Word. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
You have brought us through another night and given us one more day to live. Again, this evening, we will be able to lie down and sleep, knowing that it is you who sustains us through the night. You deliver us from our enemies and from all evil, so help us to sleep in peace and quietness because we trust in you. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
You have fulfilled the ancient promise, Lord, your promise to Abraham. We who are gathered together throughout the world this morning, people of every color and nationality, have been made heirs of your promise to Abraham, united in Christ through baptism, made righteous for his sake. Thank you for giving us the faith-filled hope of all of Abraham’s descendants. Remind those who suffer of your promise, of their baptisms, and their hope of salvation, especially those whom we name before you now in our hearts and upon our lips… Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
By your death and resurrection, Lord and Christ, you have conquered the evil forces of sin, death, the devil, and even hell itself. You have covered us, clothing us in yourself. So, inspire us, like the demoniac, to proclaim to everyone we can, what great things you have done for us, Jesus. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy—through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
We invite you to join us for an in-person service. St. Paul's features traditional worship and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions — all in a friendly, family-like environment. Our worship services are traditional and liturgical. Holy Communion is celebrated each Sunday.
Please notice that we welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon Pastor Ryman has a chat with the children. You're going to love this part of the service.
Our services are mask-optional.
