Seventh Sunday after Pentecost
Order of Worship
Prayers of the Church
Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs...
We thank you, Father, that you have made us holy through the righteous sacrifice of your Son. May your Spirit be at work in your church, causing us to produce the holy fruit of love for you and our neighbor, so that your Name is kept holy among us. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Your Name is more majestic than those of both heaven and earth. Give us the power to fear and love you so that we do not use your name superstitiously or to curse, swear, lie, or deceive, but call upon you in every time of need, and worship worshipwith prayer, praise, and thanksgiving. For Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Your great Name is not to be used unnecessarily or to make boastful promises. Therefore, give us patience to live in trust before you. Give us the faith to believe that you are our great “Yes,” praying that your will be done. Even so, we trust you with those whom we love, Franda and Lisa, Ruth, and all those who are mourning and suffering among us, especially these whom we name before you even now with our hearts and voices… Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Give us the courage and conviction to speak the truth in all of our conversations. Help us to not exaggerate or overcommit ourselves. And may we never swear by your great Name, for the sake of the honor of Christ Jesus. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy — through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
We invite you to join us for an in-person service. St. Paul's features traditional worship and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions — all in a friendly, family-like environment. Our worship services are traditional and liturgical. Holy Communion is celebrated each Sunday.
Please notice that we welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon, Pastor Ryman has a chat with the children. You're going to love this part of the service.
Our services are mask-optional.
