Eighth Sunday after Pentecost
Order of Worship
Prayers of the Church
Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
You have blessed us, Lord God, with our daily bread—with all our earthly needs, such as food, drink, clothing, home, property, employment, necessities, devout parents, children, and communities, honest and faithful authorities, good government, favorable weather, peace, health, education, a good name, true friends, good neighbors, and the like. May we apprehend, Lord, that these are gifts from your hand, lest even the good gifts of life become vanities. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Your lovingkindness is everlasting, Father, and your faithfulness extends to all generations. Give us the faith and fortitude to serve you with gladness all our days. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We praise you, Almighty God, that you have raised up with Christ. Keep us seeking after the things above, where Christ is, sitting at your right hand. Give us the inspiration to focus our thoughts on higher things, entrusting to you those whom we love: Franda, Lisa, Ruth, and all those who are mourning and suffering among us, especially these whom we name before you even now with our hearts and voices… Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
May we be people of faith, Lord, hilarious givers who build our barns in the heavens. Give us courage to not store up treasure for ourselves on earth, but help us to be rich toward you, and benevolent to our neighbor, so that Jesus is honored in our community. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy — through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
We invite you to join us for an in-person service. St. Paul's features traditional worship and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions — all in a friendly, family-like environment. Our worship services are traditional and liturgical. Holy Communion is celebrated each Sunday.
Please notice that we welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon, Pastor Ryman has a chat with the children. You're going to love this part of the service.
Our services are mask-optional.
