Ninth Sunday after Pentecost
Order of Worship
Prayers of the Church
Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
Make us a people, O Lord, who, like Moses, would behold your glory. Cause us to be expectant, looking for your presence, especially on the Lord’s Day. Help us to walk in the Way of Holiness, the path of the redeemed, and finally, bring us into that heavenly place where we behold your glory face-to-face. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Fill us with your Word, God. Regenerate us, that we would be a communion who hears your voice instead of our own, walking in your ways of righteousness and life, instead of the ways of slavery to sin and death. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Give us eyes of faith to see, like John, the New Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from you, God: that place where there is no more death. Give this hopeful vision to all those who are mourning and suffering among us, especially these whom we name before you even now with our hearts and voices… Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We are the sheep of your pasture, and you are the great Shepherd of the sheep. Help us to listen for your voice and follow you all our days so that on that Day, we may come into that fold where you and the Father are one, and we may never be snatched from your hand. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy — through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
We invite you to join us for an in-person service. St. Paul's features traditional worship and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions — all in a friendly, family-like environment. Our worship services are traditional and liturgical. Holy Communion is celebrated each Sunday.
Please notice that we welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon, Pastor Ryman has a chat with the children. You're going to love this part of the service.
