Order of Worship
Prayers of the Church
Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
Help us, O Lord, ever to observe our parents’ teachings, especially where they have taught us from your Word. May we carry these teachings and your commandments in our hearts, and so, honor both you and our mothers and fathers. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We give you thanks for faithful parents who have taught us your ways, and ask you to strengthen us by your Spirit so that we too might teach our children well, that they may know your testimonies. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We ask you, Lord, for functional homes in your church. Give us children who honor their fathers and mothers, as well as parents who do not provoke their children to rebellion. Yet, may these same children come to love the discipline and instruction of the Lord that they learn at church and home. We ask this so that when trying times come upon them, they may know the peace and comfort of your Word, even as we have come to know it. We pray the same comforting peace of Christ for these we name before you now in our hearts and with our voices… Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
When we have done all we can do, Lord, except continue to pray for our children and grandchildren, we ask for the strength to trust in you for their souls. Though we might not see the fruit of our labors, and perhaps never sense the honor you command, may we trust you to bring those we love back round to you. And may all our children be kept in faith, for Christ’s sake. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy — through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
We invite you to join us for an in-person service. St. Paul's features traditional worship and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions — all in a friendly, family-like environment. Our worship services are traditional and liturgical. Holy Communion is celebrated each Sunday.
Please notice that we welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon, Pastor Ryman has a chat with the children. You're going to love this part of the service.
Our services are mask-optional.
