Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost
Order of Worship
Prayers of the Church
Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
Your law convinces us, Lord: we are poor and wretched sinners. Therefore, when temptation is across the rooftops, give us the spirit and strength to go about our business. Lead us out of temptation and deliver us from evil, so that we love and honor you above all things. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We have sinned against many, O Lord, but in the end, we confess with David that it is against you, you only, that we have sinned and done what is evil in your sight. Therefore, you are justified in your words and blameless in your judgment. Help us to always confess that we may also be forgiven. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
You tempt no one, God. Like King David, we too are lured and enticed by that which we desire. So, give us strength of heart and character; fill us with your Spirit’s desire for us so that we may genuinely pray that your will be done in our hearts even as it is in heaven. Help us then, to live like we are citizens of your kingdom who love and care for our neighbor. We begin by naming these before you who need your healing and strength… We pray for Claude and his family, and ask that they may know your peace. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Turn our eyes toward you, O God. Make us a people of prayer, who love your Word and Sacrament and the opportunity for worship and good, Christian fellowship. Shield our eyes and protect our homes and families. Give us the humility to love and honor each other, and so, guard the marriages of your people, so that, in the end we have truly loved and honored you. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy — through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

We invite you to join us for an in-person service. St. Paul's features traditional worship and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions — all in a friendly, family-like environment. Our worship services are traditional and liturgical. Holy Communion is celebrated each Sunday.
Please notice that we welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon, Pastor Ryman has a chat with the children. You're going to love this part of the service.
