The Prayers of the Church
Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
Join our hands with honest folk, Lord, telling the truth and nothing but the truth in court and home and church. Give us a faithful resolve to put the best interpretation on our neighbor’s words and actions. May we be a truthful people, Father, so that you may be praised. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Keep veracity and candor in our hearts, Holy Spirit, and still our slanderous tongues. Keep us far from the temptation to gossip. Provide us with the courage of the children of God to do good to our neighbors even when all around are bent on their destruction, so that you are exalted by our fear of you. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Fill us with your grace and power so that disputers cannot stand against the wisdom of your Spirit, God. Give us the light of angels so that we may make good decisions that bear in mind the good of our neighbor. Even so, Lord, we bring to you these people in need, speaking their names before you and asking you to meet their needs… May their families know that you are the God who answers prayer. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
When others speak evil and lies against us, Lord God, as they did to you, give us a share of your steadfast Spirit. Help us to bear up under the truth when our reputations are at stake. And when we are misunderstood, or worse, our words are twisted for the benefit of others, may we put our trust in you so that we are counted among the faithful who see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the mighty God and coming on the clouds of heaven. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy — through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
We invite you to join us for an in-person service. St. Paul's features traditional worship and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions — all in a friendly, family-like environment. Our worship services are traditional and liturgical. Holy Communion is celebrated each Sunday.
Please notice that we welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon, Pastor Ryman has a chat with the children. You're going to love this part of the service.
