Order of Worship

Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
Father God, as you brought your people out from the land of Egypt, you have also redeemed us from a house of slavery. Revive us by your Holy Spirit that we might live today and every day, remembering the great things you have done for us. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
As your people were instructed even in the wilderness to remember the Sabbath day, we rest in you on this Lord’s Day. May our worship be acceptable to you, Lord, and focused on your Word and the blessing of your Holy Sacrament. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Thank you, Holy Spirit of Jesus, for opening our minds and the eyes of our hearts that we may understand your Word. In that Word, you have revealed yourself and your will; you have reminded us of your promises and shown us peace, your peace, yourself. Give this same peace of Christ to those who are suffering today and troubled in spirit to believe in your saving work. We ask this particularly for these whom we name before you now… Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We confess to you, Lord, that we are poor in spirit. We are spiritually poor, unable to do those things that account for righteousness. We are bankrupt, poor and wretched sinners, who believe that you nonetheless favor us for Christ’s sake. Increase our faith that we may hunger and thirst for that righteousness that only comes from you. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy — through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
