Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.

Teach us your will; show us where and how to go, Father, and where to pitch our tents. Make us at home in any situation because we are at home with you. In every stop of life, may we call upon you, for you care for your children and are eager to hear from us. And in our prayerful living may those with whom we dwell know that you are in that place. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Our help does not come from high places, Lord Jesus, but from you on dwell on high. In our journey to you, keep our feet from stumbling, and keep us on the path of righteousness so that we may be with you from this time forth and forevermore. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

There is so much good to do in your name, God, so help us to do these things. However, give us wisdom to discount good works as the way of salvation. Help us, Holy Spirit, even as we keep the second table of your law, to remember that it is Christ Jesus alone who brings us out of bondage to sin and death. Bring this hope and assurance to the memory all those suffering and grieving today, particularly for Judy Bernhardt’s family, and for Lola Floss and her family, and for these whom we name before you now…

Give these families great faith in these difficult times, and help us all to remember that your promise depends on faith, not in our doing but on your grace. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Thank you, Son of Man, for loving us and the whole world so much that you desire to dwell among us for all eternity. Thank you for becoming the way, the only way, beyond condemnation and eternal death. Give us such faith that we may always believe in you, giving thanks for our new birth and resurrection into your presence forever. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy — through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
