Order of Worship

Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
Give us discernment, Holy Spirit, that we may not view the easy psuedo-prophecies of peace and prosperity with an aim for ease and gratification. Christ Jesus told us not to think that he came to bring peace on earth. Help us, rather, to know him as our peace, that we have him as our only sure and true peace through faith in him — not through our investments of works. Give us sound teachers, not those who will suit our passions and scratch the itch we have for false promises and assurances for our futures. We ask this, Lord God, so that, always depending upon you through faith, we know our blessings do not come from ourselves, from our works and investments, but from you. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We are plagued with sin, Father. Help us to keep your commandments, but also to remember that in your mercy, you sent your Son to redeem us from our affliction. And so, direct us to your Word; your Word is truth. Show us in your law where we transgress, but remind us through the gospel, that you forgive us our trespasses, for Christ’s sake. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Lead us daily in repentance, Jesus. Forgive our sin, Father. And do not let us be overwhelmed by the quantity of our never-ending remorse and confessions, but strengthen our faith in you. Remind those among us who are burdened by sickness and death, that you are their release from the law of death. Remind them, Holy Spirit, that they have died to sin so that, even in times of trouble, they may serve you in faith and Spirit. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Help us to daily take up faith in the work of your cross, Jesus. Assist us also to be willing to die for you so that even our living is a bearing of the cross every day. Being focused on your cross, help us remember our baptism and the death of our sin nature, that we might thoroughly lose that old life and find our life in you. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy — through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
Though we livestream our services, we invite you to join us for an in-person service if you live in the area or are passing though. St. Paul's features traditional worship and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions — all in a friendly, multigenerational environment. Holy Communion is celebrated each Sunday.
Please notice that we welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon, Pastor Ryman has a chat with the children. You're going to love this part of the service.
