Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
You are near, Lord. We hear you in your Word; you hear us in our prayers. In any way that we are not listening, Holy Spirit, turn our hearts back to you. When our ways are not your ways, straighten out our wandering; turn our feet to you. For our ways are not your ways, nor are our thoughts yours. Give us your mind so that we might walk with you. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Eternity shines brightly before us, for you are the Light of heaven. Even now, you are our strength and stronghold. Give us the certainty of faith. Remove our anxieties and give us this focus: that we may enjoy your company all the days of our lives. Allow us the recognition of your presence through your Word and the blessings of prayer and worship. We especially ask this for those who are suffering in body and soul among us, those whom we confidently name before you now… Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
The world needs you, Father. Our country needs you. Even Rowan County needs you. Our own homes need you. So, give us the boldness to speak the Word without fear. Give us the clarity that we do so even here in worship—that in Holy Communion we proclaim your death, Lord, until you return in glory. As we go from this place of worship, may our lives be worthy of the gospel of Christ. Though we leave where we have sung and prayed together, may we stand together in one spirit and mind, striving for the faith of gospel in our homes and county, in our nation, and throughout the world. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
By your grace alone we have been admitted to your kingdom. We know that this does not mean only salvation and eternal life but also service to you and to our neighbor. We are honored to serve, whether we have since being children or are recent arrivals to your kingdom. Help us to serve willingly and sacrificially for your glory alone. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy — through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
Though we livestream our services, we invite you to join us for an in-person service if you live in the area or are passing though. St. Paul's features traditional worship and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions — all in a friendly, multigenerational environment. Holy Communion is celebrated each Sunday.
Please notice that we welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon, Pastor Ryman has a chat with the children. You're going to love this part of the service.
