Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
Lord God, you have given us many prophets to listen to so that we might obey your word coming through them. Yet there is one prophet to whom we should listen, even as you said on the mount of transfiguration. So, “keep us steadfast in your Word.” Help us listen to Jesus, even when we are reading Moses and Jeremiah and the other prophets, so that we may hear the gospel in the whole Word. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
You have sent redemption to your people, Lord, a salvation that we could never secure on our own. Great are your remarkable works, studied by all who delight in them. Help us, Holy Spirit, to treasure the works and Word of God by bringing to our recollection everything that Christ speaks to us today — reminding us even as we search the Scriptures tomorrow and throughout the week. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
You are the one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist. We know that only you, Jesus, commends us to God — not our good works or morality. Nonetheless, let us not become stumbling blocks to others by our lack of good works and poor choices, instead, living lives that honor you and draw others to you. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Lord Jesus, cause us to trust in you with mature faith. By the power of your Spirit’s work through Word and Sacrament, make us resolute in the hope of salvation and eternal life. We pray especially for this peace-producing faith for those who are suffering and mourning among us. We beseech you especially for Travis, Mita, and Randall, and their families, that you support them through your Word and Spirit, remembering to them your precious promises for Jerry, Jeff, and Carolyn. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy — through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
Though we livestream our services, we invite you to join us for an in-person service if you live in the area or are passing though. St. Paul's features traditional worship and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions — all in a friendly, multigenerational environment. Holy Communion is celebrated each Sunday.
We welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon, our children take up a spare change offering for mission. Then they join Pastor Ryman on the chancel steps for a chat about today's Scripture. We think you will love this part of the service.
