Sermon: Prisoners of Hope
Join us at 10:30am for our service of worship featuring lessons from the Holy Scripture, the Lord's Supper, an anthem by our children and the Adult Choir, sacred music, a chat with our children, and a message from today's Bible lessons on how, though in bondage to sin, we are prisoners of hope.

Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
We still await the ultimate fulfillment of Zechariah’s prophecy, Father. We know that our king is coming to us, righteous and having salvation, humble and mounted on a donkey.” We also know that he is still coming to fulfill all prophecy, bringing eternal life to all who believe his righteousness is given them for salvation. He is mounted on the promise of Scripture, that he is surely coming soon. Amen! Come, Lord Jesus. Until then, may your grace be with all. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Samson once lifted the city gates and carried them up the hill at Hebron. But you, Lord, from a hill called Calvary, have opened the gates of righteousness to us. Only those with your righteousness may enter these gates. This is the day that you have made, the day of salvation. You have flung the gates wide open for us, that we may enter by faith in you. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Give us regard for our neighbor, that we may be their servants like you, Jesus. This love of neighbor is our obedient duty to your Father. We just recited our responsibility in the second table of the Commandments. It is, in fact, a way that we love you. So, help us empty ourselves for them so that you are honored in our service, and that our neighbors, especially those who are suffering in this congregation, might be drawn to fear, love, and trust in you above all things. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Lord God, you have revealed your salvation to the world. Remove all doubt from our hearts, and eliminate all unbelief from the hearts of those whom we love. We are so bold and confident that we name them before you now, trusting in your mercy to give them faith in you… Father, glorify your Son and draw the whole world to him. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy — through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
Though we livestream our services, we invite you to join us for an in-person service if you live in the area or are passing though. St. Paul's features traditional worship and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions — all in a friendly, multigenerational environment. Holy Communion is celebrated each Sunday.
We welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon, our children take up a spare change offering for mission. Then they join Pastor Ryman on the chancel steps for a chat about today's Scripture. We think you will love this part of the service.
