Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
We would be devoted to prayer like the disciples of old, Father, but the cares of the world distract us from you. Help us to hear the promises of your Word, so that our hearts and minds are focused on receiving your gifts — especially the gift of hearing you in your Word. To that effect, in our daily readings of the Bible, our Sunday School classes, and Tuesday Bible studies, speak to us in a way that drives us to talk with you more faithfully. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
As we would be more devoted to prayer, Lord God, we also wish to be more delighted by your Word, reading and meditating daily — morning, noon, and night. Teach us to read, listen, and pray, in one sitting and throughout the day so that our whole satisfaction in life comes from knowing and acknowledging that you are our life. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
May our joy full and complete, Father, through the confident hope of eternal life that we have in Jesus Christ, your Son. Increase our faith, making us to believe in his name and the testimony of the gospel with the result that we are always mindful of the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting that we confess. Give us sound judgment to know we cannot by our own reason or strength believe in Jesus Christ, our Lord, or come to him, but that the Holy Spirit has called us by the gospel, enlightened us with his gifts, sanctified and kept us in the true faith, and that on the Last Day he will raise up all the dead, and give eternal life to us and all believers in Christ. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Keep us in your Name, O God, and make your church one, united, the Una Sancta of your own desire. Unify and sanctify us in the truth of your Word, so that the world may know you sent your Son to be its Savior and Redeemer. As we await the fulfillment of these requests, we are mindful to pray for healing and peace for all who are suffering and mourning among us, especially those whom we name before you now… And finally, we ask your blessings on our mothers, especially those who have raised us in your truth. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy — through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
Though we livestream our services, we invite you to join us for an in-person service if you live in the area or are passing though. St. Paul's features traditional worship and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions — all in a friendly, multigenerational environment. Holy Communion is celebrated each Sunday.
We welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon, our children take up a spare change offering for mission. Then they join Pastor Ryman on the chancel steps for a chat about today's Scripture. We think you will love this part of the service.
