Order of Worship

Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
Your law, Father God, shows us how desperately we need your grace. The Ten Commandments are not only a script to live by but show us how we might be separated from you if we depended on our piety and devotion to rules — even your rules — as the way to you. Remind us to not rely on our abilities, laughable as they are, but instead, on your grace through Jesus who taught us that he is the only way to you, Father. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Open the mouths of our spirits wide and fill them with your Word, Holy Spirit. Even as you brought the Hebrews out of the land of Egypt, the house of slavery, you bring us out of bondage to sin and death. We are reminded of your salvation in the Word, and you demonstrate your grace in the Sacraments, so open our mouths wide and fill them. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We ask that your light would shine in the darkness of our world, our country, and even our own lives. Yet we would ask particularly for those among us who are recovering, or ill, or mourning, that the face of Jesus Christ would shine brightly in their lives. May the brightness of the knowledge of your glory, O God, enlighten and strengthen them and give them your peace. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Help us to eat freely today, feasting on your Word and Sacrament. Free us from bondage to law and practice; show us that Christ is the way so that we may follow where he leads us. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy — through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
Though we livestream our services, we invite you to join us for an in-person service if you live in the area or are passing through. St. Paul's features traditional worship and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions — all in a friendly, multigenerational environment. Holy Communion is celebrated each Sunday.
We welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon, our children take up a spare change offering for mission. Then they join Pastor Ryman on the chancel steps for a chat about today's Scripture. We think you will love this part of the service.
