Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
Even trying to hide our sin, Father, and despite our attempts to cloak it in religion, help us hear you walking among us, if only in the evening of life. Give us all the hope of restored fellowship with you through the promise of forgiveness and salvation through faith in your Son, so that we may be reborn to that eternal life you designed for us from the beginning. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
You have taught us, Holy Spirit, to hope and trust in your Word, to hope in the Living Lord of that written Word. We have come to know through what is written that with you there is abundant redemption because of your steadfast love. Thank you for reminding us, Spirit of Christ, that when we are faithless, you remain faithful. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Use St. Paul’s Lutheran Church to extend your grace to more and more people. We would not lose heart, though setbacks, delays, and prevarications come and go. Even though these bodies are wasting away, make us determined until the end to do all we can to advance the grace of Christ’s Gospel in our community and throughout the world so that you are glorified in this congregation and indeed, the whole earth. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We admit, Lord God, that often enough we do not understand what you are doing. When things do not go as planned and when illness and heartbreak come smashing into our lives, we might be tempted, as was your earthly family, to think you are out of your mind or worse, do not care for us. Thank you for forgiving us these trespasses. But until the end of our lives, give us and all those who suffer and mourn among us, faith in you instead of in appearances. And finally, remind us all of your love that sustains us through Word and Sacrament despite our circumstances. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy — through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
Though we livestream our services, we invite you to join us for an in-person service if you live in the area or are passing through. St. Paul's features traditional worship and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions — all in a friendly, multigenerational environment. Holy Communion is celebrated each Sunday.
We welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon, our children take up a spare change offering for mission. Then they join Pastor Ryman on the chancel steps for a chat about today's Scripture. We think you will love this part of the service.
