Order of Worship

Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
Give us ears of the heart, Holy Spirit, that we might hear and truly listen to your teachings. Give us understanding of what your Word truly means so that we may take possession of that heavenly land that you have prepared for us. Help us not to add our own traditions to your teachings, which would turn your Word into our word. Finally, help us to shake off lifetimes and generations of training in human traditions, so that we do not pass them down to our children but instead, pass on to them the true teachings of God, not man. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We thank you for unfolding your Word to us, God. It is the path to knowing you and understanding your will. Through it, you establish our steps. Help us to treasure your Word that unveils to us your redemption, that you might bless and keep us, so that your face may shine on us, and that you may be gracious to us and give us your peace. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We would rely upon you, Lord; we know this is right. But our old nature keeps wanting to fight the battle with human strength. Even though we fail every time, we keep fighting spiritual battles with human strength. Give us courage to admit our weakness and be strong in the strength of your might — armoring ourselves with your truth and righteousness, with faith in the gospel of peace, and with you salvation that you have revealed in your Word. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Create in us clean hearts, Lord. Casting off our manmade, religious traditions this morning, we ask you to renew in us the joy of your salvation. Restore this joy in the hearts of those who are suffering and mourning among us. We ask this especially for Teresa Peeler, her family, and friends, that you would be glorified in her struggle. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy — through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
Though we livestream our services, we invite you to join us for an in-person service if you live in the area or are passing through. St. Paul's features traditional worship and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions — all in a friendly, multigenerational environment. Holy Communion is celebrated each Sunday.
We welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon, our children take up a spare change offering for mission. Then they join Pastor Ryman on the chancel steps for a chat about today's Scripture. We think you will love this part of the service.
