Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
We know that your promises are true, Father. You have already fulfilled the word to Jeremiah that you would bring the promised Messiah, and we await his return in this season especially. As we await the consummation of his kingdom, save all your people —the whole Israel of God — by the name Yahweh Tsidkenu, “The Lord is Our Righteousness.” Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We lift up our souls to you, Lord God. As we wait for you each day, teach us and give us to know your will and ways, for you alone are just and true. This is why we know you forgive sinners: you are just and right to do so. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Furnish what is lacking in our faith, God, so that we may increase and even abound in love for each other. Establish our hearts in your righteousness and make us holy unto you. We ask this most especially for those among us who are suffering and mourning. Establish their hearts and hopes in you. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Stir us to watch for the signs, Jesus, so that we might see you coming with power and great glory. Straighten us up; raise our heads and hearts so that as your kingdom draws near, we do not miss out on the appearance of our redemption. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy — through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
We are fast approaching Christmas and invite you to enjoy the warmth of God's love by worshiping with us in-person if you live in the area or are passing through. For those outside our locale, we do livestream our services into this page, as well as YouTube and Facebook.
At St. Paul's you may expect traditional worship of liturgy and Holy Communion each Sunday with a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions — all in a friendly, multigenerational environment.
We welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon, our children take up a spare change offering for mission. Then they join one of our pastors on the chancel steps for a chat about today's Scripture. We think you will love this part of the service.
