Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
We give you thanks, Lord God, for you were angry but turned back your anger from us. You had and have every right to be furious but you have become our salvation. For the sake of your Son, you have given us to drink from the well of salvation, the Living Water who is that same Savior Jesus Christ. Give us increasing faith to always drink deeply of your grace. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We need your forgiveness, Lord, and know that the remission of our sins is also your will. So, we confess our sin to you, that we may be forgiven the iniquity of our sin. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
For our sake, Father, you made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. You have reconciled us to yourself through the cross of your only Son. Now, make us emissaries of the gospel, carrying into our world the good news of reconciliation — that in Christ Jesus, you will not count our trespasses against us. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We are all reckless with our faith more times than we care to admit. We have the tendency to depend upon ourselves. Therefore, give us the same trust as the prodigal son, that we might turn away from our self-sufficient religion, turning instead to you, Father. Remind us, as it came to the mind of prodigal, that in your house all our needs are met out of your abundant faithfulness. Jog the memory of faith in all those who are struggling or mourning. Renew their trust in the loving Father of all prodigal children. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy — through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
If you live in the area or are passing through, please worship with us in-person. For those outside our locale, we do livestream our services into this page, as well as to YouTube and Facebook.
At St. Paul's you may expect traditional worship of liturgy and Holy Communion each Sunday with a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions — all in a friendly, multigenerational environment.
We welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon, our children take up a spare change offering for mission. Then they join one of our pastors on the chancel steps for a chat about today's Scripture. We think you will love this part of the service.
