Order of Worship

Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
When judgment comes, help us stay with you, Lord. Judgment is surely coming for our land, for this world, and for all its dead. Help us, like Abraham, to stand before you to plead for mercy for our families and neighbors. Holy Spirit, move us to pray for them often and persistently. In the meantime, we thank you for your endless patience and grace with us, for we, like Sarah, can be a people of little faith. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
You have a purpose for us here, Lord. I am convinced of it and lean into you for its fulfillment. Strengthen our souls; give us minds that are bent to your will, and give us the emotional fiber to persist in the good work you have called us to at St. Paul’s. Bless the offerings of your people that support the missionary work of Friends of Madagascar Mission, Spiritual Orphans Network, and Naomi’s Heart. Multiply their missions that the Gospel of Jesus Christ may increase. This morning, we ask specifically that you intervene in the rapidly escalating border conflict between Thailand and Cambodia. Pastor Sam Chim and the school and ministry of 15 churches supported by Awakening Lives to World Mission are facing uncertainty. Give them your peace and the sure and certain hope of Christ Jesus in this troubled time, that they may know that though they walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve their life. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We thank you for the baptism of Lydia Canup this morning. Bless her with the fulfillment of all your promises. Raise all of us and all your people throughout the world with Christ Jesus through faith. Make us alive together with him and give us the certainty of forgiven people: that you have nailed our debt to the cross and that we are being filled up to the full in Christ. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We ask that your grace be full in the lives of Brinley Bernhardt, Lela Canup, Oliver Newsome, and Otto Newsome. Give them faith to come hungry and thirsty to your table. Give them — and us — the persistence of the neighbor in today’s gospel lesson. For we would ask your forgiveness often, seek it with faith, and knock for it repeatedly, day by day, since it is the imperishable sustenance we seek from you, our Bread of Life. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy — through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Visitor Info
If you live in the area or are passing through, please worship with us in-person. For those outside our locale, we do livestream our services into this page, as well as to YouTube and Facebook.
Expect traditional worship with liturgy and Holy Communion each Sunday and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions — all in a friendly, multigenerational environment.
We welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon, our children take up a spare change offering for mission. Then they join one of our pastors on the chancel steps for a chat about today's Scriptures. We think you will love this part of the service.
