Sermon: God's Salt
The Church of Christ is to exercise its transformed nature, its saltiness, in a world that just doesn’t get it, that considers God's salt foolishness. Join us in worship Sunday at 10:30am that includes a message from Pastor Ryman about God's salt, as well as sacred music, readings from the four major sections of the Holy Bible, the Lord's Supper, and a chat with our children and Pastor Lord.

Let us pray for the whole people of God, in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
Heavenly Father, teach us to fast in a way that is acceptable to you. Help us to cast off the yoke and bonds of sin and wickedness in our lives. Put the gospel on our lips that we would share it as our daily bread with those who are spiritually hungry, poor, and stripped naked from sin. Grant us the wisdom to show mercy and grace as you have shown us, that the light of your son may break forth and shine in our thoughts, words, and deeds for all to see. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Lord Jesus, we ask for healing and peace for your church and for those close to us who face health issues, are homebound, or are in care facilities such as hospitals and nursing homes. Help them to remain steadfast in faith during times of doubt, worry, and loneliness. Grant your people healing, mercy, and peace according to your holy and divine will. Grant them visitors and friends in their hour of need, that they may always know the light and nearness of your kingdom. We especially lift to you the family and friends of Sandy Corley. Bring them peace and comfot in their time of grief. We give you thanks for Sandy’s life and the lives of all your saints who have faithfully served your church in their time on earth. Grant that we would find peace and strength in your cross which has conquered death forever. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Eternal Father, be with all those who serve their neighbors in the capacity of public service, those who do good works in your church and within the community. Grant them your peace and security and protection at all times, that they may dwell secure, knowing that you are with them in all that they do. May your Holy Spirit grant us all wisdom and discernment that we would give glory to you, Father, with all you have given us and those whom you have charged us to serve. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Everlasting Father, strengthen your church and its missionaries to preach the gospel and to know only Jesus Christ and him crucified. Where we have divisions amongst ourselves, help us to reconcile quickly, so that healing would spring up speedily. Let the light of Christ Jesus guide your church in our worship, our study, and meditations that we would know the nearness of your kingdom at all times. Turn the hearts and minds of all people to the cross of your son, that they would know your great love, mercy, and sacrifice, and come to faith and be saved. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy; through your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen

We welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon, our children take up a spare change offering for mission. Then they join one of our pastors on the chancel steps for a chat about today's Scriptures. We think you will love this part of the service.
