Order of Worship

Let us pray for the whole people of God, in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
Send us like Abram, Lord, to the places you would have us be, whether it be a new job, a new neighbor’s home, or even another country. And in those places, give us occasion and conviction to testify to Christ Jesus so that all the neighborhoods of the world may call upon your name. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
If we lift up our eyes to Washington DC, or to the LCMC, or to SPLC, or any other church, we are left confessing that our help does not come from these or any other venerated hill. Our help comes from you, Father, the creator of the heavens and the earth. You are the keeper of our lives. So, help us to fear and love you, to the degree that we may trust you for all good. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Give us a sure and certain faith, Lord Jesus. Give us the confidence that in every trial and challenge, we may rely on your gracious promises. We ask this especially for our homebound and suffering, those who mourn, and all those who cannot be in the physical communion of their church family this morning. We also request this grace for those who are struggling with sin and are tempted to doubt the promise of your mercy and forgiveness. By the power and work of your Spirit, assure those who suffer among us that your unsurpassed peace is theirs because of what you have accomplished for them and for the world. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We praise you, Holy Spirit, that we have new life and vibrant hope through the Christ’s resurrection. Assure all who hear this prayer that you gave the Son for them, so that they may come to believe in you wholly and alone for their salvation. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy — through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Teaching
Open or download this week's preview of the lessons. We send this to our homebound with a bulletin each week and thought you might like to have a copy as well. You may read it online or print it out. It includes prayers, brief teaching on each of the four lessons for Sunday, an overview, and an additional Word Search based on the Gospel Lesson.

Visitors Info
If you live in the area or are passing through, please worship with us in-person. We also livestream our services on this page.
Expect traditional worship with liturgy and Holy Communion each Sunday and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions — all in a friendly, multigenerational environment.
We welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon, our children take up a spare change offering for mission. Then they join one of our pastors on the chancel steps for a chat about today's Scriptures. We think you will love this part of the service.
