Sermon: Steadfast Lutherans
The centerpiece of today's service is Holy Communion. We also welcome 16 new members into our congregation: Don and Betty Camerlin, Larry and Tricia Clark, Wayne and Jaudon Cline, Susan Cruz, Randall and Susan Faggart, Autumn Hill, Keith, Amy, and Sophie Hoffner, Rex and Lisa Phelps, and Matthew Yattaw.
As always, there is beautiful music by our organist, Connie Burleson, and by our choir, under the direction of John Brock, as well as the pastor's chat with the children, and a message. This week's sermon is about being steadfast in the Word.

Prayers of the Church • Reformation Sunday After Pentecost – October 31, 2021
Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
Make us your people, Lord, those who are steadfast in your Word. And give us such grace that your Spirit uses us to proclaim your eternal gospel, first in Rowan County, but also throughout the nation and into the whole world. In thy mercy, we beseech thee to hear us, good Lord.
O Lord, our refuge and strength, you have been our help through life and even in this very day—a day that celebrates how you have saved us through Christ alone. Give us strong faith, so that we may be still in the knowledge of your saving love. In thy mercy, we beseech thee to hear us, good Lord.
We are sinners, Lord, beggars for your grace. We thank you that you give your grace liberally to all who believe in your Son. Thank you for appeasing yourself for Christ’s sake. Help us to trust in you, Father, for all good things, even health and salvation. We pray this especially for those whom we name before you now… In thy mercy, we beseech thee to hear us, good Lord.
Living Word of God, Redeemer of the nations, hope of the world, we will abide in your Word so long as you give us faith in you. Make us steadfast Lutherans, that you may be praised and glorified among the people. In thy mercy, we beseech thee to hear us, good Lord.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy—through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
We invite you to join us for an in-person service. St. Paul's features traditional worship and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions—all in a friendly, family-like environment. Our worship services are traditional and liturgical. Holy Communion is celebrated on the first and third Sundays, as well as other festival Sundays.
You may notice in today's service that we welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon Pastor Ryman has a chat with the children. You're going to love this part of the service.
Our services are mask-optional.
