Sermon: What's in Your Heart?
Although our annual congregational meeting seems to interrupt the beginning of the service, we pray you will stick around for the Word, the music (featuring our Men's Choir), and the joy of our children meeting with their pastor.
Order of Worship
Prayers of the Church
Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
You are our great deliverer, Lord, who will raise the righteous from their graves. Because those who believe in you will be given your righteousness and their names be written in your book, they will shine brightly in eternity. This is the promise of your word, Lord, which we believe. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We have nothing good apart from you, Lord God. We trust in you above all things for you have revealed to us the path of life. Indeed, there is no other way to you Father, than through your Son who is the Way. Keep us in the way, that we may know the fullness of joy that is to be in your presence forever. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We draw near to you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, because you have robed us in your own holiness through the offering of Jesus Christ. You have put your word in our hearts, sanctified us, and perfected us for eternal life with you in heaven. With this confidence we draw near in prayer for these whom we name before you now… Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
You have warned us, Jesus, to be on our guard because the world will hate us for proclaiming your gospel. So, we ask you to be with missionaries and believers in places where hostility toward your Word rages. Give them strength and courage to be your ambassadors. As they are still among us this week, we ask that you bless Kristie and Danny, and the work of Naomi’s Heart Mission, that they may reach the hungry, the hurting, and the lost children of the Philippines. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy—through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
We invite you to join us for an in-person service. St. Paul's features traditional worship and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions—all in a friendly, family-like environment. Our worship services are traditional and liturgical. Holy Communion is celebrated on the first and third Sundays, as well as other festival Sundays.
You may notice in today's service that we welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon Pastor Ryman has a chat with the children. You're going to love this part of the service.
Our services are mask-optional.
