Numbers 7

Scripture Text: Numbers 7:1–89

Series: Read the Bible in a Year

For some reason, God has led this obstinate, rebellious, sinning lot of people called the Israelites out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. He gives them their very own land as a possession, and determines to live among them and be their God.

Perhaps the very reason God has decided to do this is because they are so unrighteous. Many times in the Old Testament, God does something great so that people will know that God is in the land. What greater thing can God do than make an unrighteous people righteous?

The twelve tribes each bring offerings to God because he has favored them by bringing them into the promised land. Through the offering of Christ Jesus, we too are brought into the promised land of heaven and eternal life with the God who still chooses to live among a people whom he alone makes righteous.
