Order of Worship
Prayers of the Church
Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
Help us to not be a dark and sullen people, Lord. Trusting in you for all our good, may we know the richness of your blessings, and bring you the fruit of praise. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Your ways are perfect, O God. So, lead us away from temptation and keep back your servants from presumptuous sins. Do not let them not have dominion over us, so that you alone may be our God. May we trust in you instead of in trickery and scheming, and so, be blameless, and innocent of great transgression. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We would be a grateful people, Father, content with who you have provided for us in life. Therefore, give us spirits that seek our neighbors’ good, and never covet the family, friends, and associates of others. Looking to our neighbor’s good, we ask your peace, comfort, and healing for these whom we name before you now... Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
It is not who we have around us which makes the difference, but your indwelling Spirit, Jesus. Lead us then, into your kingdom and the communion of your saints, so that we may be one together around your throne in heaven. In this life, may we long for your Word instead of for those people and things which are not ours to possess, so that the fruit of the Spirit may grow from the implanted Word. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy — through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
