Scripture Text: Galatians 2:16 and Habakkuk 2:2-4
Series: Comments on Galatians
Faith and works is not the conundrum of the chicken or the egg, but the analogy will do. We must not imagine that it is our works that reconcile us to God. Rather, works follow faith; they proceed from faith. All good works, from confession to food pantry to foreign mission, must come from the heart that has been enlivened by faith in Christ. Faith is the egg from which the working chicken is born. But the chicken who thinks her works will save her is bound for the fryer.
