Lot recognized the two angels as simply men, but Abraham understood they were angels, messengers of God. One has to wonder if the men of Sodom would have wanted to "know" them, to have intercourse, if they thought of the two as angels.

Why did God destroy Sodom and Gomorrah?

When God tells us to move on, we do well to not look back, desiring those "good old days." God has something new in store for us.

Did Lot's daughters trust God?

Abraham is a schemer or trickster, not unlike Jacob yet to be born. Notice how Abraham, like Lot's daughters, developed his own solutions instead of trusting God.

How old was Abram when God promised him a son? How old was he when Isaac was born? Does that seem like a long time to trust God's promise? Were there sad consequences because Abraham took matters into his own hands with Hagar?
