A Great Read

Comments on Galatians with an ear to Luther’s commentary

Scripture Text: Galatians 2:20 and 1 Samuel 16:6-7

Series: Comments on Galatians

Today's Scripture Jigsaw

Sometimes I buy a book because of the great-looking cover art, only to find that the story was insipid or poorly written. I have to say though, that I have never purchased a book because the cover art was terrible. That is precisely what God did when he sent his Son to redeem me. Lousy cover — and the story was not too great either — but he bought the book anyway. Now the cover is still lousy, but simply because of his purchase, the story is outstanding. He has become part of the story, become one with what he purchased. Other people may still judge me by my cover — what I look like, what I say, what I do — but God judges me by my contents: Christ the Lord. The narrative of my life is now permeated with grace and peace because Christ lives in the story.
