In My Own Image
Comments on Galatians with an ear to Luther’s commentary
Scripture Text: Galatians 1:6-9 and Philippians 1:9-11
Series: Comments on Galatians
I don’t know what the Bible says but I know what I believe. Sadly, this may be the state of many who say that they “believe in God.” They believe in their idea of god. They believe in who they want god to be. Ultimately, this means they believe in themselves. If god is their own conception, they have become their own god — a mosaic of myths, notions, and wishes.
Before Bibles were printed and therefore common, the Church devised manuals and creeds so that her members would know what to believe. In 75% of the world today there is no excuse to not know the Holy Word of God. Make time to read it and know it so that you will not be easily or “soon removed” from true faith.
