One with Christ
Comments on Galatians with an ear to Luther’s commentary
Scripture Text: Galatians 2:20 and 2 Peter 1:3-4
Series: Comments on Galatians
Each of us is the sum of our relationships. I see within myself more than traces of my parents and others who have influenced my life, yet I am me. I do not think that I am my father or mother. I do not claim to be someone I am not. The Christian Faith takes this a step further. Christ now lives in me. I do not claim to be Christ, yet he is within me and more than just a part of my personality development. He truly lives in me. We are joined, married if you will: one. Yet I still live; I am me. So, when I sin, I dare not look to me. I must look to the Risen One within me and know that I have no sin, because of he who lives within me.
