The Whosover
Comments on Galatians with an ear to Luther’s commentary
Scripture Text: Galatians 2:20 and John 3:16
Series: Comments on Galatians
Christians know from that most famous of all Bible verses that Jesus was sent by the Father’s great love to die for the world (John 3:16). The poignancy of the second half of the verse, especially in the language of King James, must not escape us. “Whosover” puts a keen point on the Father’s love. His love is not intended only for simply everyone. God’s love is also aimed at the “whosover.” Jesus was given for you — even you! When you grasp how much God loves you, the certainty of everlasting life becomes a real and living hope.
